Good, tidy and clean accommodation. The apartment is nothing flash but having 3 balcony’s was awesome. Views of the ocean were lovely. Staff were amazing, really helpful and friendly.

Personale molto gentile e professionale.
Just returned yesterday from hotel piccolo. Had a fabulous time and would highly recommend it. It really is small and friendly. Half the rooms sold to the French and half to English. The ambience between guests (well the English) was so good and we made some lovely friends. You do not feel the need to venture out much due to it being so chilled and friendly!!! The food was excellent (lots of fresh fish at lunch and dinner) and a superb outdoor terrace where we ate every meal!!! The staff are so friendly and attentive (especially Walter) and always at hand to top up your drinks. It was all inclusive and the beer and wines were very good. If you take a ten minute stroll you reach the harbour and beach which has a good selection of bars and restaurants. It is a perfect place after dinner to go to to watch the world go by!!!! Will return for sure. Thank you hotel piccolo 😎
Everything very clean and spacious, room was in classic Italian decor which in my opinion needed modernising but that is just an opinion and would probably give it an extra star if so. From the outside the apartments looks lovely, very stunning architecture. Close walk to Baja Sardinia, for cocktails definitely recommend the Club Hotel - €8-10 but well worth it!! Would return to the hotel again :)
This resort is in a stunning location with a beautiful view from most rooms. It's also convenient for touring the Northern part of Sardinia with great access to many beaches, the Maddalena Islands, and mountains and mountain villages. The rooms are well furnished and spacious with plenty of storage space. The bedroom had an en-suite and there was an additional bathroom for guests. The Kitchen facilities are adequate. The staff were friendly and helpful. Good access to restaurants and shops in Baia Sardinia (as well as a good restaurant on site). Lovely coves and beaches within walking distance of the resort.
We booked this only a week or two before departure as family were staying in a hotel nearby. We wanted self catering as we have a young child who wants to eat earlier than people usually dine. It would allow us the freedom to eat whenever and whatever we wanted. The apartment is basic, it has everything you need, linen, pots, pans, a hob, sink, lounge, towels, wardrobes, tv etc. What it doesn’t have...,and what I didn’t expect to get, was washing up liquid, cloths....but as you are self catering and need to visit a supermarket for essentials and food, this is inexpensive. The hotel made the beds each day and tidied up bins etc, they didn’t wash up....I didn’t expect them to, I was really happy to discover they made the beds each day! The apartment we had gave us more balcony space than I could have imagined, it was like a palace! The rooms comfortable, the staff really friendly and helpful. The views are stunning. It has access to its own tiny beach which is down a little path..magical find. It’s got well manicured gardens and the pool is spectacular with it being cleaned and maintained more than any I’ve seen! It’s walkable to the town and supermarket and we loved it. We will be back without a doubt!
Stayed one week at Hotel Residence Porto Piccolo in July. The Hotel is situated on a hill with fantastic views overlooking the ocean and a 5 minutes’ walk from Baia Sardinia were you can find restaurants and some shops. Sine we arrived the hotel late and the reception was closed, we found an envelope with a welcome note informing us that the door to our apartment was open and that we could find the key inside. Unfortunately, the reception had messed up and allocated someone others apartment to us. This resulted in a rather disturbing first night waking up in the middle of the night from other guests trying to get into the apartment. Also, the aircon was turned off upon our arrival, resulting in an extremely hot and humid apartment, not the best conditions for sleeping. ||The next day the receptionist, Daniella, which is very sweet and helpful, assigned us to the correct apartment. This apartment (A2) had a great location in the front of the hotel with a patio with a great view to the garden and the ocean. The apartment itself was in great need of refurbishing. Furniture’s was all from the opening of the hotel, with defects and stains from were and tear. The bed was so hard, you can sleep on the tiles without experience any difference in comfort. The aircon is extremely noisy, so we had to turn it off to get any sleep.||Breakfast is the most dreary chapter. In the order confirmation it states “Italian breakfast included (coffee, tea, milk, brioche, bread , butter ham and cheese.” The only thing served was chocolate or apricot croissant’s, corn flakes, coffee, pre-toasted bread in plastic and jam. In short, breakfast is for other than an Italian, next to nothing. ||||I also question the cleaning of the apartment, which was “done” every day. We had to was most of the kitchen utensils before using them, experiencing a lot of them was greasy from former guests. I was also rather discussed after brooming the floor. One of our boys made a small mess, but after brooming we had collected dirt for at least a month.||||In short, the location of the Hotel is great, but for a price of €275 per night it is a rip off taking into account the need for refurbishing, the breakfast – or lack of breakfast, and the cleaning. I have not done any investigating, but it must be possible to find better accommodations giving more value for the money. ||||I can maybe recommend staying at Hotel Residence Porto Piccolo for one or two nights, but not for a week as we did.
We are staying here for 1 week and the location is amazing. Set on a hill right on the water, with views from bedroom and living room of the pines & royal blue/aqua sea. Huge apartments with 2 bathrooms, 1 bedroom, kitchen, living room and 2 balconies with sea views. The staff immediately brought us toaster/oven; microwave, without our asking. The restaurant is wonderful with a pianist that plays all day, while you can hear while lounging or in outdoor areas! Pool won't be filled till summer, but right overlooking the sea. We pay 150 euros for the week for cleaning etc. We have car so can enjoy all of Sardinia on day trips and come back to this gem. This resort very close to Baia Sardinia little village with tons of shops, restaurants, cafes, gorgeous beach with umbrellas-chairs and views of the sea from everywhere !! We recommend this place & Sardinia too!
Our family of 4 stayed at Porto Piccolo with some friends in late July. The rooms are sparse but comfortable and clean. The view was very nice and the surroundings are very beautiful and well mantained. ||||The restaurant was very good with a variety of dishes. The personnel at the restaurant, and bar, spoke very good english and always made their most of making us having a good time.||||The breakfast selection was minimal so we bought groceries and had breakfast on our terrace instead which was fine. There is a store about 15-20 minutes walking distance from the hotel.||||The pool was rather big and had a small section for babies and a deep end as well. Our daughters, aged 6 & 10, love to swim and to have fun in the pool but that was made impossible due to the EXTREMELY unwelcoming life guard (Massimo, i think his name was). He made us feel very uncomfortable and he scared our children with his antics so they didn’t want to go to the pool area at all if he was around. I tried to talk to him but he didn’t speak any english and it ended up with him raising his voice and making gestures at me. I tried to talk to hotel management regarding this and they said they were aware of the situation and that they would talk to him. Meanwhile he goes around the pool area speaking to the other guests, pointing at my family and making gestures! ||On other days, in the afternoon, he would sit with his friends around the pool drinking beer and smoking…||The whole situation made us feel very unwelcomed and I am really surprised that no-one from hotel managment took any action or approached us during our stay to appologize, not even at check-out.||||We decided to spend most of or time outside the hotel and you can take a 15 minute walk to the local village for ice cream/lunch/dinner. ||||We rented a car and went to various beaches (Capriccioli) and also visited the Island of Maddalena which was very nice. A short ferry ride from Palau and you have even more beautiful beaches, clear blue water and good food.||||We could definitely see ourselves going back to Sardinia but would think twice about coming back to Porto Piccolo.
We chose this residence due to its location and the facilities. The apartment was good, a reasonable size and lovely views onto the well maintained gardens and the sea. The towels and bedding don't get changed during your stay unless you pay extra, I think as a 4 star this should be integrated into the price.||||The facilities were a little sparse, the tennis is €25 an hour for the court excluding racquet hire. So not really part of the facilities. The private beach is tiny and rocky, underwater there is a lot of rubbish washed onto the rocks which isn't pleasant to look at whilst snorkelling! There is only one place to eat on site which was fine, but nothing more. They could do with something else.||||The pool itself is lovely. However the lifeguard wasn't. He spent much of his time bothering young women, picking flowers and putting them in the water for them. Leaning over their loungers and being very unprofessional. He was very unfriendly, unless you were Italian and female in your 20's. It appeared he was allowing his friends who were not residents to join around in the afternoon on at least 4 occasions. It did spoil the pool for us and a few others we spoke to. ||||Despite my gripes, I would revisit. The price was reasonable, we've been to Baia before and stayed at the Grand Relais Dei Nuraghi which was fabulous, however this was under 1/2 the price. Also, we had a car and used the residence as a base which was great. The view is fabulous and the gardens are very well maintained. Also, the lifeguard may have gone!
